General Summary:  The program coordinator assists the dean for Humanities, Mathematics, and Social Sciences to support the ART programs and discipline across the college.  This includes working with the faculty to promote the program internally and externally, assess student learning, keep the curriculum current, consult on course schedule, and interact with the Advisory Committee as appropriate.

Job Duties:  
  1. Program Promotion through presentations and coordination of all faculty participation in admissions, registrations, and recruitment events.
  2. Confer with the department heads and appropriate faculty to create the schedule each semester.
  3. Assist department heads in hiring of adjuncts and staffing of ART courses.
  4. Coordinate among ART program faculty assessment and follow-up activities to meet Middle States requirements in this area.
  5. Coordinate among ART program faculty four-year program reviews and mid-point reviews for ART.
  6. Review assessment results, facilitate discussion among discipline faculty, and assist with implementing resulting recommendations
  7. Coordinate and meet with the Advisory Committee for the program and assist with implementing Committee recommended projects.
  8. If appropriate, respond, in consultation with the dean, to requests from external agencies related to offering courses and programming in the discipline off-campus.
  9. Assist Art faculty and students in preparing campus-based and college-wide exhibits and other events.
  10. Assess status of equipment and studios across the college to determine needed upkeep, improvements, and resources in order to serve student learning; communicate needs to dean/provost and executive directors of administration as appropriate.
  11. Hold discipline meeting with faculty at least once in Fall and once in Spring semester.
  12. Facilitate strategic planning for the programs/discipline as is appropriate.
  13. Advise/support Art Educational Technicians across the college as needed.
  14. Communicate to the dean in writing accomplishments of faculty and students in ART as well as program/discipline needs and challenges (in form of several regular and/or one annual program report).
  15. Other related duties as required.

The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
