The Community College of Allegheny County requires all employees to obtain three different background certifications or clearances:
- PA State Police Criminal History Records Check
- PA Department of Human Services - Child Abuse History Check
- PA Department of Human Services - FBI Fingerprint Check

Important! The ORIGINALS of all required clearances must be presented for review and verification. Originals will be returned to the employee after verification. These clearance are transferable and valid for five years.
Submitting Your Renewed Clearances
Employees have two options to submit their renewed clearances to the Office of Human Resources:
- In-Person at the Employee Processing Center (EPC)
- Virtually via email and a Zoom meeting
ATTENTION NEW HIRES: New hires are to submit their clearances during their Pre-Hire Meeting, so please do not schedule a separate clearance appointment.

1) Employee schedules an appointment through Calendly to visit the Employee Processing Center (EPC) using this link.

2) Report to the EPC at the scheduled date and time.

3) Present all original Clearances at your appointment. (ONLY printouts of the Child Abuse and PA State Police Criminal clearances are fine.)
4) A photo ID is required.
5) Clearance copies will be retained in Perceptive Content for the College’s records.
6) Originals are returned and retained by the employee.
Submit clearances virtually via email and a scheduled Zoom meeting
Before scheduling, please read the appointment information below.
1) Employee emails humanresources@ccac.edu and attaches clear, quality PDF of all (three) Clearances.
2) Employee schedules a virtual appointment through Calendly using the following link. Once clearances are received via email, a Zoom link will be attached to this meeting. (Appointments will be cancelled if clearances are NOT received 24 hours before the scheduled meeting time.)

3) The employee must present their original FBI Fingerprinting Clearance from the PA Department of Human Services during the Zoom meeting.
4) A photo ID is presented during the Zoom meeting as well.
