General Summary: Provides assessment data support
for the institution. Provides assessment reports and dashboards for decision
makers. The Director of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for
the work on standard official data reports for external constituencies such as
the National Student Clearinghouse and the PDP as well as on non-standard
internal ad-hoc data requests including the grants office. The Director is responsible for ensuring
the effective administration of college surveys including the campus climate
survey and Noel Levitz surveys, as well as external surveys that inform public
about CCAC's institutional profile.
Design queries and pivot tables.
Requirements: Master’s
degree in research design, measurement, statistics, higher education, social
science, policy analysis or related field and a minimum of five years related
experience. Able to clean, debug, and analyze complex datasets that link data
from a variety of sources and rapidly create ad hoc database queries utilizing
modern desktop database tools such as SQL. Proficient in Microsoft Office
software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience creating
PowerBI or Tableau dashboards. Experienced and knowledgeable regarding IPEDS
and other mandatory federal reports. Experience building assessment dashboards.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across disciplinary boundaries
with faculty and students. Ability to
work in a complex, diverse institution. Knowledge of issues in higher education
particularly those affecting community colleges. Knowledge of and adherence to
the code of ethics of the Association of Institutional Research. Understanding
of ERP applications (Ellucian Colleague Student System) or Banner a plus.
Capable of working independently on complex assignments, collaborating
with others, as well as the ability to maintain effective working
relationships. Possesses strong time and project management skills. Able to present
complex ideas, and analytic findings clearly and effectively, verbally and in
writing. Familiarity with how community colleges provide access, respond to
community needs, and provide equity is desirable.
Duties: 1. Facilitate the systematic collection of assessment data within the College.
2. Write SQL scripts to extract data from data warehouse.
3. Serve as back up for IPEDS Key holder. Design surveys, analyze and summarize results of internal, external, and ad hoc surveys for the College.
4. Analyze institutional data to determine trends, support projections, and guide planning and decision-making.
5. Assist school in resolving validation errors during data collection and serve on Data Governance team.
6. Provide data to support grant applications and reporting.
7. Support reporting and accreditation efforts: e.g., ACEN, Middle States, etc.
8. Coordinate and prepare Post-secondary Partnership (PDP) data submissions.
9. Design and format the annual college fact book and fact sheet.
10. Perform other related duties as required or as assigned.
Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
